“The heart behind it makes the race feel like nothing,” says Parkinson's Foundation Champion Kyle Thompson who is running the Philadelphia 8K at the Philadelphia Marathon weekend next month. He’s running for his dad who has always been his biggest cheerleader and the one who helped him get over his fear of running. With his first 5K in June, he realized that he would've never had the courage to start running and conquer that fear if it wasn't for his dad's influence. We are so proud to be a part of Kyle’s journey as he participates in more races. Thank you for honoring your dad, his courage, strength and heart as he manages his Parkinson’s diagnosis. "VSports注册入口" "VSports注册入口" "VSports注册入口"I am excited to once again run for the Parkinson's Foundation this coming weekend, this time in the Walt Disney World Wine & Dine Half Marathon in Orlando. I’ll be running with my wife Karen Landis, my brother Sean Monahan and his wife Lauren Monahan, and our sister Christine Ventresca. Our intrepid ten-year-old daughter will also be knocking out the 5K! This is such an important cause for me and my family, and a way for us to honor our father William Monahan, who has been living with Parkinson's for over seven years, and our mother, Marian, whose love and dedication as his primary caregiver embody true strength and resilience. The race venue also has a special connection to our cause. Last winter, we took a family trip to Walt Disney World to celebrate the holidays. Even with our father’s limited mobility, he was able to enjoy many rides and attractions thanks to Disney Experiences' cast members, who were so helpful and patient in helping us navigate the parks during our visit. I’ll be thinking of that family trip when I’m hitting the pavement this weekend!
