Major news from the Vicković Lab. Dr VSports手机版. Sanja Vickovic, together with and collaborators Aviv Regev and Richard Bonneau at Genentech, have recently published a study in Nature Biotechnology revealing how colon tissues and cells change as we age. Using advanced spatial transcriptomics and a novel computational tool (cSplotch), the team mapped nearly 1,500 mouse gut tissues and 400,000 single nuclei, unlocking new insights into colon aging and disease. 🔬 Explore the science: https://bit. ly/4hj3ry7 #IICD #VickovicLab #NatureBiotechnology #ColonAging #SpatialTranscriptomics #SystemsBiology #ResearchHighlight #ColumbiaUniversity Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center Columbia University Biomedical Engineering Columbia Engineering NYU Center for Data Science Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard Uppsala University New York Genome Center Simons Foundation Nature Portfolio .

🌟 Breakthrough in #ALS Research: Deciphering Sporadic vs. Familial Disease I'm incredibly proud to announce the publication of our critical new research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences MDPI VSports最新版本. We've taken a significant step toward solving the #AmyotrophicLateralSclerosis (ALS) puzzle by moving past the single-disease model. Our team, led by Alexandria Awai, PhD conducted an in-depth gene expression profile analysis on post-mortem motor cortex and spinal cord samples. This study is the first to systematically stratify patients based on their mode of inheritance—sporadic ALS (sALS) versus familial ALS (fALS)—to reveal the unique molecular landscapes of each subtype. This study revealed that sALS (which accounts for more than 90% of all cases) and fALS have distinct underlying molecular pathways and promising new targets for treatment - providing a vital blueprint for #PrecisionMedicine in ALS. This work represents years of dedication from an incredible team: Alexandria Awai, PhD | Erica L. Johnson, Ph. D. | Tiandong Leng | John Patrickson | Michael C. A recent study by Steven Castel (New York Genome Center), Furahini Tluway (University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa), Michele Ramsay (Wits University / Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience (SBIMB) and others introduces the South African Blood Regulatory (SABR) resource, a functional genomics dataset derived from >600 individuals from three South Eastern Bantu-speaking populations (Pedi/Bapedi, Tsonga, Zulu). The project integrates whole-genome sequencing and blood transcriptome data to map regulatory variation (expression QTLs / splice QTLs / cell-type interaction QTLs) for 40 blood-cell traits VSports app下载. One major finding: many regulatory variants are unique to individuals of African ancestry, and a substantial fraction are entirely absent in non-African populations. Cybersecurity Intern @ New York Genome Center

Wrapping up weeks 7 & 8 with the New York Genome Center 🧬 ✅ This week I had the pleasure of presenting my final internship project to NYGC, where I developed an automated vulernability reporting system using Python that connected Rapid7 InsightVM to Eramba GRC. I created the project with the intention of further supporting our rollout of Eramba to the organization that began when I started the internship. These past two weeks have been crunch-time between supporting our day to day security operations and preparing for my presentation. It’s been incredibly rewarding to apply both technical skills and user-centered thinking to solve real problems for the organization. I’m feeling proud, grateful, and energized as I close out this experience with a team doing mission-driven work for NYGC at the intersection of science and cybersecurity. Many thanks to Patrick Damon, Ph.D. and Charles Gagnon for trusting me with your systems, and to the entire IT team that helped me so much during this process. Also a big thank you to John Coppinger and Rachelle Dond for supporting the success of the interns this cycle through recent unique funding challenges.
