WNT16 antagonises excessive canonical WNT activation and protects cartilage in osteoarthritis

Abstract: ObjectiveBoth excessive and insufficient activation of WNT signalling results in cartilage breakdown and osteoarthritis. WNT16 is upregulated in the articular cartilage following injury and in osteoarthritis.
